Sitting with the C-Suite: Trent Livingston of ESI Analyst

On January 15, I sat down via Webex with Trent Livingston, the CEO of ESI Analyst. Trent and I covered, among a host of topics, how he got involved in the eDiscovery industry, mobile device preservation, collection and review, and eDiscovery in current events. 

Trent started his career as a software test engineer and developer at Microsoft before entering the eDiscovery marketplace in the early 2000s.  He has since provided consulting and expert testimony surrounding structured data, process automation, and complex data analytics throughout his two-decade long career in eDiscovery and technology.  Trent has been the CEO of ESI Analyst since 2018. Julie Lewis has extensive experience in eDiscovery, founding Digital Mountain in 2003. Julie has over 30 years of experience in the tech industry and previously worked in venture capital, M&A, public accounting and at several public companies in leadership, management and operational roles. Sitting with the C-Suite: Gulam Zade of LOGICFORCE

On October 23, 2020, I sat down via Webex with Gulam Zade, the CEO of LOGICFORCE. Gulam and I covered LOGICFORCE’s scorecard, and how the company has diversified and grown in the eDiscovery space. 

Gulam has years of experience as an attorney in private practice, where he specialized in bankruptcy and corporate restructuring. Gulam joined LOGICFORCE in 2014 as a partner and general counsel before becoming CEO in 2019. He is a well-known author on legal technology. (more…)

Sitting with the C-Suite: Hal Brooks of HaystackID

On October 29, 2020, I sat down via Webex with Hal Brooks, the CEO of HaystackID. Hal and I covered how to best choose an eDiscovery partner, the influence of the global pandemic on both information governance (IG) practices and remote document review, and a host of other topics. 

Hal has served as the CEO of HaystackID since 2018.  HaystackID recently merged with NightOwl and offers, along with eDiscovery technology and litigation support, its ReviewRight remote document review services.  A long-time industry veteran, Hal previously served as Regional Vice President of Ikon Document Services/Atlanta Legal Copies, and founded Onsite, a litigation support company. Sitting with the C-Suite: JP Midgley of Avalon

On October 30, I sat down via Webex with JP Midgley, the CEO of Avalon. JP and I covered transitioning to RelativityOne, standing out among the competition, and tips on how to go paperless. 

JP began his career at Avalon in an entry-level position before being appointed director of client services.  In 2008, he opened Avalon’s Buffalo office and became that location’s managing partner.  JP has been the CEO of Avalon since 2011. (more…)

On October 28, I sat down via WebEx with Mandi Ross, the CEO of both Prism Litigation Technology and Insight Optix. Mandi and I covered a broad range of topics relevant to modern litigation, specifically proportionality, remote work during the pandemic, and staying up to date on technology.
