Sitting with the C-Suite – Merger Edition: Wendell Jisa and Jay Leib of Reveal

On Monday, August 17, 2020, I sat down with Wendell Jisa, CEO of Reveal, and Jay Leib, the new EVP of Innovation and Strategy of Reveal, via WebEx. Wendell, Jay and I discussed Reveal’s acquisition of NexLP, which was announced on August 11, 2020. Jay was previously featured on this program, and extensively discussed NexLP’s history, strategy and vision. Wendell will be returning for a deeper dive in early October to discuss Reveal. This was our chance to cover this new integration, the vision and strategy, and what it means for the industry.

Enjoy this special merger edition of the Sitting with the C-Suite series.

Reveal’s Acquisition of NexLP – Making Bold Moves through Leading with AI

Wendell explains what will be different about the company looking forward, as NexLP’s technology and team is further integrated with Reveal. Jay covers the acquisition history and what led to this great “marriage” opportunity.

AI as the Future of eDiscovery

Wendell discusses why he believes that “eDiscovery has a ton of opportunity for us to go in there and make big changes with big visions,” and Jay explores his vision of AI as “an invisible hand helping the lawyers.”

Finding the Right Fit

Wendell discusses how the alignment of the corporate vision of Gallant Capital, which facilitated the transaction, was one key to this “bold move,” and Jay outlines the timing of the deal.

Managing the Merger and Looking Toward the Future

Jay explains his position that “NexLP was the first, and probably still the only, true artificial intelligence company out there.” Both Wendell and Jay offer their parting thoughts on what the merger means to the company’s customers and the industry.
